February 2004 Newsletter

The New Year is in full swing and we trust that you enjoyed a blessed Christmas season with loved ones.

This past period has been a challenging one for Janai Children's Home, one of our PVI projects, in Benoni on the East Rand. Vuyani, their 5 year old adopted son underwent open heart surgery in January, and his recovery process has been an emotional and exhausting time for the whole family.

Despite the challenges, this special little boy brings immense joy into the Schneider home and his attitude is an encouragement to his brothers and sisters.  The operation was a costly ordeal, and a SATS heart monitor is desperately needed to keep an eye on Vuyani's recovery.

Martin and Kelaine provide for their 22 children as thoroughly as possible. Apart from the building modifications sponsored through PVI, plans have been approved for extensions to the home. We trust the Lord for building materials for the project.

We invite you, in partnership with PVI to pray for Janai and support the family where possible.  What a privilege we have in coming alongside people making a difference to children's lives, giving them unconditional love and hope. This is how Christ loved us, and how we are called to love others.

‘Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain.’  Psalms 127:1 (NIV)
